West Ham predicted XI v Manchester United: Michail Antonio and fellow regular face axe

Julen Lopetegui could drop Michail Antonio to the bench in four changes as West Ham United welcome Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday (27 October).

The Hammers will be keen to bounce back with a positive result at the London Stadium after a 4-1 thrashing last time out against Tottenham.

Lopetegui has come under fire for recent performances so really needs his side to perform better against the Red Devils.

With that being said, the Spaniard is likely to keep his backline intact with Alphonse Areola starting in goal despite scoring an own goal in North London.

Ahead of him, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Emerson could be set to flank Jean-Clair Todibo and Max Kilman, all keeping their starting role despite conceding four last time out.

In the midfield is where changes could be made by the Hammers, with Guido Rodriguez likely to drop out after a difficult afternoon against Spurs. He could be replaced at the base of midfield by Edson Alvarez.

It is a toss-up alongside him whether Lopetegui opts to stick with Tomas Soucek or introduce Carlos Soler from the start. The Czechia international could prove to be a better choice from the start at the London Stadium.

In the forward line, Mohammed Kudus will drop out after picking up a red card against Tottenham and may be replaced by summer signing Crysencio Summerville.

Lucas Paqueta and Jarrod Bowen could keep their places in the starting XI as mainstays in the Irons’ side.

Up top, it may be time for Lopetegui to make a change and give Danny Ings a chance ahead of Antonio, who has started seven league games this term.

Without Niclas Fullkrug through injury, there is a decision to be made between the pair but it could be said that the Englishman deserves that opportunity against Erik Ten Hag’s side.

In other West Ham news, Jose Mourinho as the next manager at the London Stadium looks to be gathering pace and Jamie O’Hara can’t believe it.
