West Ham player who Jarrod Bowen says ‘feels like a new signing’ creates unwanted problem
Jarrod Bowen’s delight could also be a cause for concern at West Ham.
Bowen and West Ham fans nearly clashed at Wolves as the Hammers threw away a 2-1 lead to lose 3-2 at Molineux, in a third consecutive defeat under Graham Potter.
With pressure building on the head coach at the London Stadium, West Ham’s 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest was huge and much-needed.
This saw Bowen once again showcase his talents in claret and blue, getting on the scoresheet alongside the Aston Villa-linked Lucas Paqueta and summer signing Callum Wilson.
In the days after this win, the Irons’ captain has linked up with England and has spoken out on an injury update in East London that could cause issues moving forward.

Jarrod Bowen delighted with Crysencio Summerville return
There is no hiding from the issues that the East Londoners had faced in terms of performance until the trip to the City Ground.
This result coincided with the return from injury of Summerville at West Ham, who had been absent since Potter’s first match in charge of the E20 club.
The Dutchman signed from Leeds United last summer and came off the bench in the East Midlands in what was only his 23rd appearance for the Hammers.
It is safe to say that he proved how big a miss he has been with a stellar showing off the bench, despite only featuring across eight minutes.

This has been echoed by his skipper, Bowen, via talkSPORT on 4 September, who believes Summerville is like a new addition to the squad in East London.
He said: “I think we’ve recruited really well, and obviously we’ve got Crysencio Summerville who’s come back from injury and almost feels like a new signing because he’s missed nearly six months of football.
“When he came on at the weekend [against Nottingham Forest], he made a really big impact.”
As positive as this may appear to be for the captain, it could ultimately represent a concern for Potter moving deeper into the campaign.
Crysencio Summerville return poses problem for West Ham
There may be some positive aspects to the return of the Dutchman, especially after his showing at the City Ground.
The versatile attacking midfielder is excellent on the ball and has the ability to create chances while also having an eye for the spectacular.
With that being said, his desire to start games on a weekly basis after hitting peak fitness could be scuppered and cause frustration within the squad.
Both Mateus Fernandes and Paqueta were excellent against Forest, and it feels as if one of these will have to drop to afford the Dutchman a starting role.
It will certainly be interesting to see how Potter can manage the minutes of his attacking stars, but the initial delight of Summerville’s return has quickly become an unwanted concern.
