West Ham mystery deepens amid Nayef Aguerd developments in France
Nayef Aguerd departed West Ham in the summer, and regret will already be setting in.
West Ham are in a relegation battle this season; there is absolutely no doubt about that.
After the latest defeat to Leeds United, the Hammers are 19th in the Premier League, having picked up just four points from their first nine games.
Fingers will be pointed at Graham Potter at large, as well as Nuno Espirito Santo, who has failed to change their fortunes, but a lot of the blame lies elsewhere, and it shows just how much of a mistake the Irons made in regard to Aguerd.

Nayef Aguerd should never have been allowed to leave West Ham
There are concerns everywhere you look at the London Stadium this season, but one certainly stands out more than the rest.
West Ham have been embarrassing defensively.
In their nine Premier League games, the Hammers have conceded 20 goals, which is one more than Wolves, who are yet to win a game.
To make matters worse, five of those have been conceded to two of the newly promoted sides, who look set to finish significantly higher up the table.
Aguerd, who was signed by Tim Steidten at West Ham, joined Marseille on a permanent deal in the summer, and he has not looked back since.

Not only has he already scored for the Ligue 1 leaders, but his general performances have been superb, while the likes of Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo have been struggling with West Ham.
Aguerd was more than likely the one who pushed for the move, but it remains a mystery how West Ham allowed him to leave so easily.

Nuno Espirito Santo simply has to axe Jean-Clair Todibo
As demonstrated above, Todibo is by far the worst-performing centre back of the three, and yet he is starting games for West Ham.
Konstantinos Mavropanos’ injury is a big reason behind that, but with Igotr Julio on the bench, Nuno has the ability to change it.
The Hammers have some tough games coming up, and the Frenchman is by far their biggest liability defensively.
Nuno will get a fair amount of time with the Hammers to get them firing, but that could be shortened massively if he doesn’t make this change.
