West Ham must replace Tomas Soucek with Manu Kone as transfer race heats up

West Ham must show their ambition in the transfer market to sign Manu Kone who could be looking to leave Borussia Monchengladbach at some point in the future.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reported on Twitter that heavyweight clubs – Bayern Munich, Newcastle, Paris Saint-Germain, and also Liverpool are vying for the signature of the 21-year-old central midfielder, who is seen as a “big talent”.

Bild reported on 10 November that Kone is at the top of West Ham’s shopping list next summer, and the Hammers must not give up their hope on signing the youngster.

Jacob Steinberg wrote for The Guardian that David Moyes wanted to get rid of Tomas Soucek last summer but he is forced to rely on him this season.

Whether or not Moyes stays at the club, Soucek should be sold in the summer. There has been a lot of talk about whether he should be given a new deal, but it hasn’t happened yet.

Truth be told, Soucek doesn’t deserve a new deal. He has been very poor for the past 18 months, and Moyes has started to realise that the 27-year-old midfielder is not adding enough value to the side.

West Ham

In the summer, the Hammers need a young and dynamic central midfielder to replace Soucek, and Kone should be the one.

It won’t be easy though to bring him to the London stadium especially with so many big clubs around, but the Hammers will have money to do business if Soucek and Declan Rice leave.

Despite his tender age, he is a regular for the Bundesliga club, and the Hammers have been tracking him for a while.

The player is unlikely to leave in January, but he could be on the move next summer.

West Ham have already started making plans for midfield options, and they should try to bring him to replace the faltering Czech Republic midfielder.
