West Ham must beat Newcastle to sign £34m-rated Gianluca Scamacca
West Ham must do everything to sign Sassuolo’s highly-rated striker Gianluca Scamacca in the summer transfer window.
The Athletic reported on 10 June that the Hammers are keeping a close eye on the 23-year-old striker, who is also targeted by Premier League rivals Newcastle.
Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition, 11 June, page 2) has brought out an article on the striker, where they claim that the Italian club value him at more than £34 million.

The likes of Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in his signature, and the famous pink paper notes that it would be a “shame” to lose the Italy international.
There is also an interest from AC Milan. The striker is progressing rapidly, and he has a long-term deal at the club.
In his first season as a regular starter for Genoa, Scamacca scored eight goals in sixteen appearances. Last season (2021-22), he managed 16 goals in all competitions for the Italian club.
West Ham are looking to sign a striker for the past three windows but they haven’t been able to land anyone.

This summer, they have to sign a quality player or else it would be a catastrophe. Last season, the club’s failure to land a striker had hurt them badly as they heavily relied on Michail Antonio.
The Hammers tend to struggle when he is out of form, and they need to add depth and quality in that department.
Newcastle can easily match the asking price, but the Hammers must beat them in the race. He has age on his side to reach a top-class level in the future.
