West Ham may speed up Tomas Soucek exit decision after news on Thursday
The case of Tomas Soucek and West Ham over the past few months is a little peculiar.
Back in August the Athletic reported that the Czech Republic midfielder had agreed a new four-year deal to remain at the London Stadium.
However, the club themselves have never officially announced that Soucek has put pen to paper on fresh terms, and the Daily Mail said in October that Serie A giants Inter Milan are interested in his signature, with his contract set to expire next June – albeit the Hammers have a 12-month option to extend.

All the while, Soucek has been going under the radar as one of West Ham’s more impressive operators this season, and has contributed four goals from 16 Premier League appearances.
But an update on Thursday suggests that maybe the Irons will be willing to speed up his exit from January, provided the deal suits all parties on course.
talkSPORT reported (21 December) that West Ham and Tottenham are both waiting to pounce should Chelsea decide to cash in on England midfielder Conor Gallagher.

“Tottenham and West Ham are waiting in the wings if Chelsea take the controversial decision to sell Conor Gallagher,” their report read.
“Gallagher has been one of Chelsea’s standout performers this season and has captained his boyhood club on numerous occasions.
“It is understood there is a section of the Blues hierarchy willing to cash in on Gallagher to help balance FFP rules because, as an academy product, any transfer fee received would be marked as 100 per cent profit on the balance sheet.”
There are obviously a lot of moving parts to consider here and several pieces would need to fit but if Chelsea do decide to take a business decision to sell Gallagher then it would stand to reason West Ham will be interested given they reportedly had a £40million bid for him rejected in the summer (Sky Sports).
Should they make that move, then it may mean Soucek is allowed to speed up his own London Stadium exit in January.
