West Ham man will surely start against Arsenal after what he did vs Everton

West Ham will be looking to fly up the table after the dismissal of Graham Potter.

David Sullivan has been slammed for his handling of West Ham since the sacking of David Moyes, as fans have been enraged by the board.

West Ham fans have planned a protest for their game against Newcastle next month, after asking Karren Brady to step down from West Ham.

New manager Nuno Espirito Santo replaced Potter and is looking to turn things around fast at The London Stadium.

Nuno will have learned plenty about his team in Monday night’s clash with Everton, with one substitute in particular standing out.

Freddie Potts has to start in West Ham’s game against Arsenal

During pre-season, Potter handed Freddie Potts a healthy amount of game time, where the midfielder impressed.

It seemed Potts was set to play an important role for West Ham this season after a successful loan spell at Portsmouth, but under Potter, he has managed just 45 minutes in the Premier League.

Nuno axed James Ward-Prowse from the West Ham starting line-up against Everton, and Potts made the bench.

Nuno also pointed to the fact that he wants more physicality in his team, which explained some of his big decisions last night, but this is why Potts now needs to start.

Freddie Potts made more of an impact than Soungoutou Magassa against Everton

Soungoutou Magassa was handed his first Premier League start by Nuno on Monday night, as he played through 59 minutes of the game.

The Frenchman did okay, but Nuno obviously wanted a little bit more in midfield, and as soon as Potts came on, everything changed.

Just six minutes after the introduction of Potts the Hammers scored, as Nuno and his men looked like they were going to snatch all three points towards the end of the game.

Arsenal will provide a tough test, but Potts has already shown he’s ready for the Premier League. With Ward-Prowse absent, the academy product could be in line for his first league start.
