West Ham have to go all out and try to sign Andrea Belotti

West Ham need a striker, we are six days away from their Premier League opener against Newcastle United, and they have only one.

They have been linked with many, including Italian forward Andrea Belotti, who has just turned down a new contract at his current club Torino [Gianluca Di Marzio.com].

The 27-year-old informed Torino that he wouldn’t be signing a new deal.

This has left the door ajar for the Hammers to make a move because we can’t imagine the Serie A side would want to lose Belotti for nothing next summer.

The Italian international has been a superb goalscorer in Italy, and back in May, Torino Granata reported that the Irons were favourites for his signature.

For Torino he has scored 105 goals in 228 appearances. So, it is clear that he knows where the net is, and with the likes of Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen feeding him, Belotti could easily reach double figures in the Premier League.

He is also an established international and was part of the Italian side that won the delayed Euro 2020.

Belotti has also been described as “extraordinary” by former Torino boss Moreno Longo and could be the perfect foil for Michail Antonio or could even replace the 31-year-old in the long run [Football Italia].

The fact that he has one year left on his contract and has turned down a new deal at Torino should allow the Hammers to swoop in and sign Belotti.

This could be the only chance that the Hammers get to swoop in and make this deal happen, so we feel that they have to act now.

However, whether they do or not remains to be seen.

In other West Ham news, the club have refused to pay the wages for one striker.
