West Ham given Axel Disasi transfer hint after deal elsewhere is stalled
West Ham have long admired Axel Disasi, first chasing him back in the summer.
However, a deal for the 27-year-old never came to fruition, with Igor Julio signing on loan instead.
The Brazilian’s move did not go to plan, with the defender already being sent back to parent club Brighton in the last few days.
It was a decision made with possibly signing Disasi and Antonin Kinsky in mind, with the Hammers not having enough space to welcome any more loans.
West Ham have been in talks with Chelsea for Disasi, but they have not been the only suitors in for him.
However, their position in the race may have just been revealed, and he could follow on from the signing of Adama Traore.
Axel Disasi to West Ham hint dropped after Fiorentina talks
Chelsea are looking to offload Disasi, and Serie A club Fiorentina were among those interested in signing the player.
The Italian outfit had held talks to sign the central defender, but that transfer has now seemingly stalled after the Frenchman’s preference was made known.
According to Sky in Italy, the Serie A club believes Disasi is looking to stay in London for his next move.
The French defender had been part of Chelsea’s bomb squad and has not played a game since last season. However, Liam Rosenior has now reintegrated Disasi back into the first team.
While the lack of match fitness may be a concern, it has seemingly not put Nuno Espirito Santo off from signing him.
And the Portuguese manager could now be in the driving seat.
Disasi is surely West Ham-bound now
Disasi has plenty of clubs looking to bring him in, but the Hammers, other than his parent club, look to be the only side that is based in London.
Napoli, AS Roma, and AC Milan are among the rumoured interested parties, but if Fiorentina faced issues convincing him of Italy, you would expect those sides to experience the same.
That would then just leave two options for Disasi if his wish was to be granted. He could either stay at Chelsea and try to force his way into Rosenior’s plans, or he could make the jump to E20.
- Axel Disasi last played a professional game last season on 4 April while on loan at Aston Villa
- He played 65 games for Chelsea since joining in 2023
- Disasi scored five goals for the Stamford Bridge side
The second option looks to be the more likely possibility, with Chelsea preferring to offload the defender.
Time will tell what will happen with Disasi, but if he is truly a serious target, you would now expect him to be in the claret and blue before the transfer deadline.
He may not be the only potential arrival, either, as West Ham look to snap up Niccolo Fortini.
