West Ham United to rue Divin Mubama decision amid latest development
Divin Mubama was on the scoresheet for Manchester City against Salford in the FA Cup and the recent injury timeline for Niclas Fullkrug will force West Ham to rue his exit.
Mubama was one of the most promising players at West Ham before his seven-figure move to Man City last summer [Fabrizio Romano], which is now looking like an even worse outcome than initially thought.
Fullkrug’s injury sustained against Aston Villa looked serious, with the German now set to miss up to three months of action [Jack Rosser], leaving Danny Ings as the only natural striker fit at the club.
Of course, Mubama left on a free transfer, leaving the Irons with little choice but to accept his exit, although they may be forced to rue their decision of leaving the senior door shut for the striker which in turn undoubtedly played a part in his decision to leave the Hammers.
West Ham will lose more youngsters without clear pathway
For too long now, the pathway from academy football into senior football has been non-existent and it has been the cause of many exciting players to seek a new career elsewhere.
Mubama is one but the likes of Pierre Ekwah must also be considered with the Frenchman now thriving in the top tier of French football, having been largely ignored during his time at the London Stadium.
Fullkrug’s injury now leaves the Irons incredibly short in attack and his lack of influence in the Hammers’ FA Cup defeat to Aston Villa leaves questions to be asked in that regard.

Would Mubama be the answer for new boss Graham Potter? It’s a question that doesn’t have a definitive answer.
Had the Irons utilised his talents and shown him a path into the first team, there is every chance he could playing a crucial role right now and developing with each week.
Ultimately, it’s a scenario that the Hammers will have to learn from going forward if they are to retain their top talent.
In other West Ham news, Potter would go down in folklore with Hammers fans if he was to sign this forward.
