West Ham could cut ties with Mads Hermansen already as transfer enquiries made at Fiorentina

West Ham may end their Mads Hermansen experiment early when the January window opens.

Hermansen signed for West Ham from Leicester in the summer and was met with high expectations after his previous Premier League performances.

The Dane has failed to live up to the hype as Hermansen has seriously struggled for form at West Ham and is yet to feature under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Graham Potter didn’t want Hermansen at West Ham, and the now Sweden manager has been vindicated in his actions.

His journey at the London Stadium could already be over as Hermansen could be impacted by transfer activity at Fiorentina.

Mads Hermansen could be replaced at West Ham

Hermansen could be on his way out of West Ham in the upcoming winter window after such a disappointing start to life in E20.

The ex-Brondby youngster has now been replaced by Alphonse Areola, who hasn’t covered himself in glory this campaign.

The goalkeeper situation in East London is concerning, especially with a relegation battle on Nuno’s hands after six matches in charge.

This could see the Irons move for a new shot stopper in the January window, with Christos Mandas emerging as an early target.

La Lazio Siamo Noi reported on 21 November that the Greece international has asked to leave Lazio after being benched in recent weeks under Maurizio Sarri.

The Hammers have made enquiries about the 24-year-old and could make a move happen once the winter market begins.

Should Nuno and Co. move for a new keeper, it is only likely to spell bad news for Hermansen at this early stage of his E20 career.

Hermansen should be open to West Ham exit

With Mandas potentially on his way to the London Stadium, it would make sense to try and recoup a fee for the Danish keeper.

Hermansen has looked short of confidence for the claret and blue outfit, and as a number two, that is unlikely to change.

He could certainly benefit from securing a move elsewhere with a view to becoming a successful number one, just as he did for Leicester City in recent seasons.

It will be interesting to see how Nuno treats the keeper, especially with Areola already replacing him in the starting 11 this campaign.
