West Ham caught in bare-faced lie over what happened at the London Stadium vs Nottingham Forest

The London Stadium looked bare in West Ham’s defeat to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, and with good reason.

West Ham were beaten 2-1 by Nottingham Forest in a crucial Premier League match at the bottom of the table.

Nuno Espirito Santo could now be sacked following the result, as David Sullivan and others will weigh up whether to stick with the former Wolves head coach through the January transfer window.

There has been uproar at the London Stadium directed at the Hammers’ hierarchy this season due to growing frustration over poor decisions being consistently made.

West Ham seem to have made yet another embarrassing mistake versus Forest, that’s now been exposed.

West Ham lied over stadium attendance vs Nottingham Forest

The move to the London Stadium was always seen as controversial, and now it’s safe to say, it was a switch that was a horrible mistake.

There have been good times at E20 since the move, but the lack of atmosphere and connection to the club that the ground has remains a huge talking point among the West Ham fanbase.

As reported by The Guardian on Wednesday, the Irons announced that 62,429 fans were in attendance on their website, but that was nowhere near the number of supporters who were present.

The actual attendance was more near to 34,000 than the figure given by West Ham.

This is yet another mistake to add to West Ham’s growing internal list of failings.

London Stadium may not be full for another year

With West Ham now seemingly destined for Premier League relegation, the number of supporters that fill the London Stadium may continue to decline.

In recent seasons, when big Premier League sides have made the drop to the Championship, packed-out stadiums are not always a guarantee in the second tier.

Leicester City this season, for example, are struggling to fill the majority of their ground, with the King Power Stadium looking bare in highlights and pictures.

That could be what’s around the corner for West Ham, especially if Mr Sullivan continues to keep season tickets and on-the-door prices sky high.

it’s a grim-looking future for West Ham, and survival would be nothing short of a miracle at this point, with failures all linking back to the London Stadium.
