West Ham can still pursue Rob Dickie despite Les Ferdinand’s comments
West Ham haven’t kept a Premier League clean sheet against a top-half side since they beat Tottenham 1-0 all the way back in October.
The long term absence of Angelo Ogbonna certainly hasn’t helped matters at the heart of the defence but that doesn’t hide the fact that David Moyes needs to strengthen his backline.
Among the centre-backs, the Irons have shortlisted is Queens Park Rangers star Rob Dickie [90Min] who is enjoying a standout season at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

QPR’s director of football Les Ferdinand though has now stated that the club will try to keep a hold of their assets if they can which could have thrown a spanner into the Hammers’ works.
“I was ignoring those sort of calls [transfer calls] because we didn’t want to lose any of our players,” Ferdinand said to West London Sport.
“We’ve got some good, young and exciting players who I’m worried come the end of the season people will be knocking on the door and wanting to take them.
“We’ll try to resist as much as we can.”
Despite his claims, however, West Ham can actually be encouraged by the former Premier League striker due to one keyword.
He says they will “try” and that indicates that there is a price at which any player at QPR is buyable and that goes for Dickie too.

The 25-year-old would be a superb addition to the Irons team and could even walk straight into the first team alongside Kurt Zouma given his fantastic aerial ability.
He is also very competent at bringing the ball out from defence and he makes up for a slight lack of speed with exceptional positional awareness when under pressure.
Dickie might not be the glamourous signing Hammers fans have been dreaming of but of all the options to Moyes, he might just be the best of the bunch.
