View: West Ham fans surely relieved after club ‘confident’ stance on German fans

West Ham are “confident” that no Eintracht Frankfurt fans will be able to sneak into the home end for their Europa League semi-final first-leg clash on Thursday [April 28].

The report comes after the German fans invaded Camp Nou in the last round to watch their team knock out Barcelona.

Security arrangements will be in place for the London Stadium clash but the club believe that tickets will sell out before they are available on general sale which should eradicate any chance of the Frankfurt fans buying tickets in the home end.

Very few to no German fans must be allowed into the stadium if they aren’t sitting in the away end.

During the round of 16 first leg ties, both sets of fans clashed as they shared the city of Seville for their respective away legs.

The Frankfurt fans acting as instigators targeted the West Ham fans ahead of their game against Sevilla.

Bottles were thrown and tensions rose before the Spanish police intervened, firing rubber bullets.

If the German fans behave like that over in England, it could be very dangerous for the Irons fans in the ground who could come under target.

There will be a mix of fans including women and children in the ground who might not be able to protect themselves as well as the loyal away fans might which makes the potential situation very dangerous.

It is also imperative for the atmosphere inside the ground that it is mobbed with loyal Hammers.

They will need to act as the twelfth man on the night for David Moyes. Side as they look to take a big step towards the final in Seville – the city where the drama started.
