View: Declan Rice drops major West Ham future hint, fans will be buzzing

Declan Rice has dropped a major hint that he will be staying at West Ham for the foreseeable future after the Irons crashed out of the Europa League.

David Moyes’ side lost 3-1 across two legs in the semi-final with luck seemingly not on their side.

The England international was gutted after the defeat but showed a brilliant comeback spirit that will leave Hammers fans buzzing.

“It is a real gutter because I have got to listen to them celebrate, it is not nice, but we will be back,” he said as per Mirror.

“I am young, I want more. The lads want more. This club deserves more. We have shown as a club we can do these big European nights.”

Crucial.

There is a sense of optimism that Rice will stay at West Ham for another season at least.

Not winning the Europa League or even reaching the final might have been a positive thing for the Irons, weirdly.

The 23-year-old is hungry for success at the club and to write his name in the history books before he eventually departs and unfortunately, he couldn’t do that this season.

His comments after the game suggest he will stay and fight until he gives the club what they “deserve” – trophies.

If he is to stay the Irons chiefs need to make the most of it because it may not last forever.

This summer will be crucial in bringing in players to strengthen the squad whilst the squad carry this momentum after a brilliant yet bitterly disappointing season.

Right now east London is a very attractive place to go with the optimism that is pulsing through the club but in a year’s time that could look very different which makes seizing this moment absolutely vital.
