View: David Moyes has to back West Ham ace Said Benrahma v Everton

David Moyes has to back West Ham magician Said Benrahma on Sunday [April 3] with his recent form before the international break too good to drop him.

The Hammers welcome relegation strugglers Everton to the London Stadium to kick off a hugely important April.

Having suffered a torrid time whilst away with Algeria, many Irons have called for the 26-year-old to be given a break this weekend.

However, with three-goal involvements in his last three appearances for the Hammers and 15 across all competitions this season, Moyes simply has to pick him.

Confidence key

You can understand why some would want him dropped having been crushed by sitting on the bench as his home nation failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

It is criminal that he didn’t feature for Algeria, surely they could have done with his talent as Cameroon knocked them out on away goals, but that is more reason to start the attacker.

He will be devastated and with Benrahma being a player who relies heavily on confidence, the Irons will be worried his form might be affected; especially as they need all hands on deck from now until the end of the season.

West Ham

It is imperative he finds some rhythm again having spent the past couple of weeks not playing.

The former Brentford man is nailed on to start against Lyon on Thursday [April 7] with his teammate Manuel Lanzini suspended for the first leg clash therefore, it is imperative he is at his sharpest.

He might not be in the best physical shape either having just written off his Mercedes on the A12 therefore, he might not start against the Blues.

Moyes needs to take him under his wing and show him just how much he is loved at the club after quite a rocky relationship of late.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers slap a mega £150million price tag on Declan Rice’s head.
