Tim Steidten must prepare West Ham United bid for Jonathan Rowe as ‘outstanding’ new footage emerges
West Ham United may be enjoying their winter break as they experience a weekend without Premier League action, but that hasn’t stopped the transfer rumour mill from turning.
It’s common knowledge that David Moyes and those above him at the London Stadium would like to add to their squad before the end of the month, especially in the forward areas after a recent injury crisis in the Irons attack.
Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio are all set for spells on the sidelines, while Mohammed Kudus is away on international duty as Ghana begin their African Cup of Nations campaign.

That has left Moyes incredibly short of options in his squad, with the only two fit and available strikers at his disposal being Danny Ings and Divin Mubama, neither of whom have provided a regular source of goals this season.
Understandably, West Ham are keen to add to their options before February and have been linked with a whole host of potential targets, but what name that could now be of particular interest to the Hammers is Norwich forward Jonathan Rowe.
Reports emerged from the Evening Standard (11 January) that the Irons were interested in signing the 20-year-old Canaries forward this month as they look to target homegrown stars during the January transfer window.
Rowe has been in terrific form for David Wagner’s side this season, scoring 11 goals and picking up a further two assists in just 25 Championship matches when predominately deployed as a left-winger.
However, perhaps his best moment of the season came on Friday (12 January) night, as the 20-year-old scored an incredible solo goal to give Norwich the lead in their 2-1 win over Hull City in the Championship.
The winger’s goal left Sky Sports co-commentator Andy Hinchcliffe (12 January) stunned as he labelled it “outstanding” as he struck past Ryan Allsopp with the outside of his boot with such power that the Hull City keeper had no chance of stopping his effort.
That sort of “outstanding” moment of magic is exactly what Moyes and West Ham need to add to their side in January, especially with both Kudus and Paqueta currently unavailable. They are East London’s resident magicians and without them, the Irons lack a bit of creativity.
Tim Steidten should be readying an approach for the 20-year-old immediately following Rowe’s goal against Hull and those in charge at the London Stadium should do everything they can to secure the Norwich City star’s signature.
