Three West Ham winners after Graham Potter sack include Freddie Potts and 2024 signing
Graham Potter has been sacked as head coach of West Ham ahead of Monday night’s clash against Everton.
There was a sense of inevitability around The London Stadium over Graham Potter’s West Ham sacking, as the club has only managed one win so far this season.
West Ham are heavily linked to Nuno Espirito Santo as the club continues their search for a replacement.
Questions have been asked over the club’s hierarchy, as West Ham’s Karren Brady has shown a lack of focus surrounding the Hammers’ managerial situation.
Despite this, Potter‘s sacking means there are a few West Ham players who will have another chance to shine under a new manager.

Freddie Potts
Midfielder Freddie Potts was seen as playing an important role for West Ham this year after a hugely successful loan move to Championship side Portsmouth last season.
Potts impressed fans during pre-season as he started in games against both Everton and Bournemouth.

Under Potter this season, Potts has only managed one appearance in the Premier League, which came after he was used as a substitute in West Ham’s 5-1 defeat to Chelsea. Potts came on for an already defeated West Ham side who trailed 3-0 at halftime.
Under a new manager, Potts will surely be given another look-in as his impending breakthrough could resemble the likes of Declan Rice’s.

Jean-Clear Todibo
West Ham defender Jean-Clear Todibo was linked with a move away from the London Stadium in the summer as his time at the club hasn’t been a success.
In saying that, since the Frenchman has been at the club, many players have underperformed.
- Todibo originally joined West Ham on a season‑long loan from OGC Nice in August 2024
- The deal was later made permanent after a £33m clause was triggered
- He’s only made two Premier League starts this season
Todibo has had previous success at OGC Nice, where he was regarded as one of the best defenders in France.
Maybe all it will take is a new manager and some positivity around the club to get the best out of the still young 25-year-old.

Guido Rodriguez
Another transfer from 2024 that has so far flopped is Guido Rodriguez.
The defensive midfielder joined from Spanish side Real Betis in the summer of 2024 on a free transfer, which seemed a bargain at the time.
Rodriguez was part of a Real Betis team that would consistently fight for European glory year on year, with the Argentinian being an instrumental cog of the team.
Since joining the Hammers, Rodriguez has only featured 26 times. He has an undeniable talent and experience that is ready to be harnessed by a new manager with fresh ideas.
