Soungoutou Magassa heads for West Ham summer exit after what he did vs Burton
West Ham’s struggles were showcased by the fact that they stumbled past Burton in the FA Cup.
Nuno Espirito Santo made plenty of changes for Saturday’s clash, though based on the performance of his side, he may well have wished that he hadn’t.
The Irons did not look one bit like a Premier League side against a team that are languishing in the relegation zone in League One.
Crysencio Summerville’s brilliance was needed to secure a 1-0 victory for West Ham and assure them of their place in the next round of the FA Cup.
However, the performance of Magassa made it a lot more difficult than it should have been, and showcases why conversations will be had in the summer.

Why is no one talking about Soungouto Magassa’s performance?
As a French youth international and a former regular at AS Monaco, Magassa should be dominating a game against a side who are looking destined for a season in League Two.
But that was not the case, and actually, it was quite the opposite.
Magassa’s passing was generally tidy with a 79 per cent accuracy, but his defensive stats from the clash were woeful to say the least.
The Frenchman lost a shocking 16 duels against Burton and somehow escaped a yellow card despite having committed five fouls.
He lost possession five times and failed to find a teammate with three of his six attempted long passes, as showcased by his below Sofascore graphic.

And just as a reminder, this was against a poor League One side, showcasing that he is unlikely to be up for the challenge which next season brings, regardless of the division.
Who has been linked with a move for Magassa?
Magassa’s woes weren’t just in the FA Cup; they’ve been a theme throughout his time in the Premier League.
But despite his struggles at West Ham, he has still attracted attention from several clubs around the globe, most notably Galatasaray.
The Turkish outfit were linked with a late winter swoop for the 22-year-old, which never came to fruition, but there is every chance that interest resurfaces again in the summer.
A loan move with an option to buy had been proposed.
And if West Ham are relegated from the Premier League, his exit will be even more likely.
