Sigh of relief for West Ham fans after Roshane Thomas reports Tomas Soucek to stay at London Stadium

West Ham United are not interested in selling midfielder Tomas Soucek in the ongoing transfer window, according to The Athletic journalist Roshane Thomas.

The Czech Republic international’s future at the London Stadium remained uncertain with reports suggesting earlier in the season that the talks for a new contract has stalled and the club were open to listening to offers for the player.

However, Thomas, while talking on the You Irons podcast on July 19, revealed that the Irons are not even willing to listen to offers for the 27-year-old.

“I checked in, the club have no intention of selling Tomas Soucek or even listen to offers,” he said. “He still remains an integral member of the team.”

Sigh of relief

Those words will be music to the ears of West Ham fans who will be extremely pleased to know that Soucek will stay at the club, especially after the departure of two key figures in Mark Noble, who has retired from the sport, and Alex Král, who joined FC Schalke 04 on loan till the summer of 2023.

The development will be also a good one for manager David Moyes who will now be hoping that he will have at least his midfield sorted out ahead of the next campaign.
