Shocking West Ham figures detail criminal transfer failures by David Sullivan and co
West Ham’s defence was again in tatters in their 3-0 defeat to Tottenham at the weekend.
The Hammers have conceded the most in the Premier League, with 11 goals conceded, which is two more than the pointless side Wolves.
West Ham have also conceded six from corners, including a free header for Pape Matar Sarr at the back post at the weekend.
Graham Potter’s side have already conceded three or more goals four times in five games this season, with their gloomy defensive record stretching back to January 2024.

West Ham have conceded three or more goals 21 times since January 2024
West Ham’s failures continue under David Sullivan, who has been under pressure at the London Stadium after a poor transfer window.
Potter could also face the sack after West Ham’s poor form, and it is clear to see why, as some awful stats come to light.
The Hammers have now conceded three or more goals 21 times since January 2024, in a run that stretches back to when David Moyes was in charge.
His defence began to suffer in his final season as they conceded 74 goals, which was only better than the three relegated sides.
Potter isn’t entirely at fault for adding to those figures, with multiple issues throughout the whole club.
Former technical director Tim Steidten, who left West Ham after a disastrous 18 months in East London, is very much to blame after multiple disappointing signings.
Signings made under Steidten:
- Niclas Fullkrug – £27million
- Kalvin Phillips – loan
- Jean-Clair Todibo – £32million
- James Ward-Prowse – £30million
- Guido Rodriguez – Free
- Aaron Wan-Bissaka – £15million
Julen Lopetegui also failed to tighten up the defence when he was appointed to replace Moyes.
Under the Spaniard, the Hammers conceded three or more goals seven times in his six-month spell at the London Stadium.

West Ham will regret not signing another centre back
West Ham were notably linked with a move for Charlie Cresswell, but were unwilling to pay a fee north of £20million for the Toulouse defender.
The Hammers had been expected to sign multiple players on deadline day but only ended up securing the services of Igor Julio on loan from Brighton.
Supporters were largely disappointed with the summer window and disappointment has grown throughout the season.
Head of recruitment Kyle Macaulay has had his hands full over the last few months but should take blame for not prioritising the signing of a defender when it was clearly a position of concern.
