Sam Allardyce may have opened door to West Ham amid Nuno sack latest
Sam Allardyce has seemingly put himself forward for a potential return for West Ham.
Allardyce wasn’t a fan of Graham Potter at West Ham after speaking out against the Englishman’s style of play on multiple occasions.
The ex-Brighton boss was eventually sacked and replaced, but Nuno Espirito Santo didn’t truly impress Allardyce early on at the London Stadium.
Nuno could soon face the sack at West Ham after a poor spell in East London was made worse by defeat against Nottingham Forest last time out.
Should Nuno be moved on, it looks as if Allardyce may be ready to take up a new role should an opportunity arise.
Sam Allardyce to consider new manager job
Allardyce has regularly spoken out about West Ham over the years as the former manager makes his feelings known on the Hammers.
The 71-year-old spent four years in East London between 2011 and 2015, helping the Irons back to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs.
That covers just one of his 14 clubs across his career, most recently managing Leeds United, where he got relegated after managing just four games.
He hasn’t had a job since 2023, but questions have been raised about whether he would take a new role after Martin O’Neill’s return to Celtic at 73 years old.
Allardyce has revealed to the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast that he could be open to a new job after frustrating spells with Leeds and West Brom.
He said:”Right now? I think I would actually consider it. It’s only going to be a club that’s probably struggling again, isn’t it? I don’t count Leeds in that, and while it was difficult keeping West Brom up, for the first time, I didn’t keep them up.
“I felt, unfortunately, that Covid played a part. As much as me and Sammy Lee tried, we just weren’t quite good enough. In the end, Leeds was only four games. I still think if I’d gotten 12 or 14 games there, I would have kept them up.
“Keeping somebody up, I’m capable of sorting it out as quickly as possible, so if that’s somebody struggling in the Premier League, I don’t know whether a Championship club would consider me. They’d have to have the ambition of getting into the Premier League, I’d want to be successful.“
Allardyce opens door for West Ham job
There aren’t many teams in a bigger predicament than the Irons right now, with only Wolves and Burnley below them in the Premier League.
Rob Edwards’ side look to be on the up, and the Clarets continue to pick up draws under Scott Parker.
Should their points pick up, Nuno could be sacked and leave a vaccncy in the relegation battle, which is the sort of thing Allardyce thrives on.

His podcast was spoken like a job interview for that segment, something which may speak to Sullivan and Co. as trouble intensifies this campaign.
Just to be clear, nobody at the London Stadium will want to see the Englishman in the dugout after what has already been a dreadful season.
Bringing in an old-fashioned coach is not what West Ham need, so the idea of bringing in Allardyce must be put on the back burner.
