Said Benrahma’s remarkable discipline record shows West Ham United have a gem on their hands

Said Benrahma’s incredible attitude and character are shown in his remarkable disciplinary record since his permanent move to West Ham.

Benrahma was signed by West Ham for £20million in 2021 after he spent the season beforehand on loan at the London Stadium.

The Algerian has become a fan favourite among the Hammers fanbase during his two years at the club, with his silky skills and immaculate technical ability often stunning the crowd.

But ahead of all his incredible goals, skills, dribbles and passes lies Benrahma’s mind-boggling disciplinary record since his move.

Footy Accumulators published a table of all the “naughty or nice” Premier League players in the lead-up to Christmas, taking into account how many bookings and red cards the players have received in the last two seasons.

Incredibly, Benrahma is the highest-ranked outfield player in the division after not picking up a single caution from a referee in his 2919 minutes played.

Only David de Gea and Alisson rank above him in the table due to their superior number of appearances without being booked.

While it could be argued that Benrahma’s record shows a lack of aggression and tenacity, it also shows his incredible discipline and composure.

Frankly, Benrahma’s superb attitude and character was on show from the very first minute he joined the club. As reported by The Sun, he insisted a portion of his West Ham transfer fee was given to Brentford staff as a bonus for all their work at the club.

Simply put, Benrahma is an incredibly lovable guy and the West Ham faithful are keen to see him get given more opportunities to shine for the Hammers.

Moyes seemed hesitant to give him a string of games in the first half of the season but Benrahma has responded by putting in some brilliant performances in the friendly matches over the winter. Hopefully, Moyes pays attention and boosts his minutes on the pitch.

After all, it’s not as if he’s going to let him down and get sent off…
