Ray Parlour has just said something about West Ham that every fan will agree with

West Ham are in far from an ideal situation right now.

The Hammers are in a hugely negative state, with Graham Potter coming under scrutiny at West Ham after a poor spell in East London.

This wasn’t helped by West Ham’s defeat last time out to Tottenham, in yet another poor performance at the London Stadium this campaign.

Now, West Ham are awaiting a clash against Crystal Palace, something which could prove to be the beginning of the end for Potter in E20.

This has seen Ray Parlour speak out, with the Irons faithful likely to be in full agreement with the former Arsenal star.

Ray Parlour cites wider problems for West Ham

There is no getting away from the fact that the ex-Chelsea boss has failed to get his ideas across since taking over with the claret and blue outfit.

Despite this, some of the blame still has to be placed on the shoulders of controversial West Ham chairman David Sullivan for his failings.

This comes after a disappointing summer window, something which failed to improve the atmosphere around the East London club.

It is this that has frustrated Parlour, while Potter continues to come under scrutiny for the Hammers’ level of performance.

The former England international responded as Alan Brazil questioned the future of the English head coach via talkSPORT on 19 September.

He asked: “You just feel that every game, Graham Potter is under so much pressure. Is this [Bilic’s return] something that West Ham fans would get behind?”

Parlour replied: “I think it’s not just the manager, it’s the whole club. The owners, whether it’s time for them to move on and sell the club, I don’t know, but it’s a situation now that’s looking desperate.

“They didn’t sign enough players, for me, in the transfer window. They just need a couple of results now and I feel for him [Potter], but he’s certainly under pressure now.”

That is a sentiment that every West Ham fan can get behind. Potter’s has been a poor appointment, but this is a far wider issue.

West Ham still must sack Graham Potter

There may be bigger issues going on at the London Stadium, but that truly isn’t an excuse for the shocking performances on the pitch.

Potter has failed to get a tune out of his side on a consistent basis, and it is for that he will eventually be sacked, not because of anything else.

Graham Potter has been poor since taking over at West Ham

If the terrible showings continue, with clashes against Crystal Palace and Everton coming up, there is no reason why he shouldn’t be sacked.

Parlour is right that there are bigger problems in E20, but it is Potter’s job to ignore those and get results, something he can’t seem to do.
