Nuno Espirito Santo’s immense record proves why West Ham must back him
Nuno Espirito Santo is making a huge impact at West Ham United.
The Portuguese head coach underwent a slow start at the helm after taking over from Graham Potter in September, but his side has exploded into life since the turn of the year.
The Hammers still sit behind Nottingham Forest on goal difference, but their performances have put them in a good place to go on and secure their Premier League status.
Aside from a poor stint with Tottenham, Nuno has a fantastic record in the Premier League with Wolves and Nottingham Forest, and West Ham simply must back him over the summer, should they survive.

Nuno Espirito Santo carries a fantastic Premier League record
Nuno arrived in England back in 2017, before he guided Wolves to the Premier League, who had been a perennial mid-table club in the Championship for multiple years prior.
Following the ascent to the top-flight, the Old Gold would secure a seventh-place finish in their first year, securing European football.
His side would finish seventh once again a year later, only missing out on Europe due to Arsenal’s FA Cup win, and was backed to break into the so-called big six at the time.
Reaching the quarter-finals of the Europa League and the semi-finals of the FA Cup, Wolves supporters carry fond memories of his time, while he would go on to repeat his exploits elsewhere.
The Portuguese coach would not last long at Tottenham, but he would revive his career in England with Nottingham Forest, after a title-winning spell with Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.
Once again finishing seventh in the Premier League, he would guide the Garibaldi to Europe, alongside another FA Cup semi-final.
Having guided them to safety following his appointment at the end of 2023, he had the chance to build his own side at the City Ground, and this soon paid off as Forest fought at the top end of the division rather than the bottom.
Should he keep West Ham in the Premier League, nothing says that the same can’t happen at the London Stadium, given his record elsewhere.
West Ham have the chance for a summer reset – they must back Nuno
When it comes to the current situation that West Ham finds itself in, Nuno has been here before and has proven that he can drag a club up the standings when provided with the tools.
Current performances indicate that the Hammers are one of the favourites to go on and secure their top-flight safety. Should this happen, the 52-year-old more than deserves the backing.

Since the European exploits under David Moyes, the Irons have kept on slipping towards the wrong end of the standings, while things have got even worse since his 2024 departure.
Should Nuno receive the backing he deserves after galvanising a downtrodden squad, supporters may be able to begin looking up once again.
If West Ham are to survive this term, supporting their manager will give them the chance to avoid further troubles and leave the relegation worries in the past once again.
