Nuno Espirito Santo faces West Ham sack after what Alan Pardew just said live on air

West Ham look as though they will be a Championship team come next season.

West Ham’s 3-0 defeat away to Man City at the weekend means that they are now winless in their last six under Nuno Espirito Santo.

To make matters worse, Leeds United’s shock victory over Crystal Palace has opened up a five-point gap at the bottom of the table.

Relegation is a real possibility for West Ham, and unless things change drastically over the next few weeks, a decision will have to be made.

Alan Pardew raises West Ham concern

When you have the likes of Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta at your disposal, it’s easy to get stuck in the mindset of thinking there will always be three worse teams.

However, this season is far from the case, and the Premier League table shows that.

Sunderland are looking towards Europe after their promotion, while Leeds’ recent form showcases that they have more than enough to stay in the Premier League, especially with January additions.

That leaves two of the top flight’s status quo to go down, and as things stand, Alan Pardew cannot see past one of those being West Ham.

Via talkSPORT, he said: “They’ve got to do some business. I really mean it. I said it weeks ago, West Ham are looking like the third-worst team in the division. Leeds – team spirit, promoted last year.

“Dyche at Forest, Silva at Fulham, why should West Ham be above any of them? Then you’re into the Spurs, the Bournemouths and the Brentfords of this world. They’re not good enough.”

West Ham haven’t improved under Nuno

If survival is to be achieved in the Premier League, more often than not, it requires a team to average one point per game throughout the season.

Under Nuno, West Ham average 0.83, which, when averaged throughout a full campaign, would see them finish on 31 points.

Some seasons that would keep you up, but it’s highly likely that 18th place will have a higher points tally.

Graham Potter was sacked at the London Stadium despite having a better record than Nuno has managed, and if that doesn’t improve soon, he could be the next manager face the axe.

David Sullivan will be aware of the situation, and he will have to act soon.
