Nuno Espirito Santo asking to be sacked by West Ham after what happened before QPR clash

Nuno Espirito Santo is cruising towards the sack at West Ham.

QPR are set to face West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday, with both sides hopeful of earning a spot in the FA Cup fourth round.

Things won’t be easy for the Hammers on their shocking run of form, especially after West Ham lost 2-1 to Nottingham Forest last time out.

Nuno has been linked to the sack at West Ham, with high levels of frustration surrounding the Portuguese, leaving many wanting him to go.

Fans will only be enraged further as the Irons prepare to face off against Championship side QPR, with Nuno’s tactical approach raising plenty of questions.

West Ham start with back five vs QPR

West Ham were poor against Forest and deserved what they got in the end, despite appearing to go 2-0 up in East London.

Taty Castellanos didn’t have a debut to remember after being caught offside for the ruled-out strike before losing his man for the Reds’ equaliser.

There were some positives to take from the first half, but it appears that Nuno has thrown that away for the FA Cup tie.

QPR currently sit 11th in the Championship and have had a very up-and-down season under the management of Julien Stephan.

The Frenchman has struggled for consistency at Loftus Road this season, but he has still earned arguably too much respect from Nuno.

The Hammers’ head coach has named a starting XI featuring three centre-halves and wing-backs against the R’s.

Going defensive against a mid-table side in the second tier is hugely unlikely to help his job prospects.

Nuno to be sacked if West Ham lose vs QPR

Nuno is already on thin ice in East London, so the idea of losing against a Championship side will surely be the final straw.

The Irons have only piled further pressure on themselves by starting in a five-back formation, which is likely to benefit QPR on the day.

With the likes of Karamoko Dembele, Richard Kone and Koki Saito starting for the away side, there could be plenty of problems caused for the Hammers’ back line.

If the R’s can make their chances count on the day, it does feel as if they could secure victory and a FA Cup upset, if you can call it that…

West Ham have been so poor in recent weeks and months that the result would likely be the end of the road for Nuno.
