Niclas Fullkrug to Werder Bremen transfer could be off as agent to spark West Ham exit twist
Niclas Fullkrug had seemed likely to leave West Ham to rejoin former club Werder Bremen in January.
The German striker has had a difficult time with injuries since his move to the London Stadium, but he simply hasn’t lived up to the lofty expectations that were laid out for him.
Fullkrug is desperate to leave West Ham in January, as he bids to make a last-minute push to be part of Germany’s squad for the upcoming World Cup.
He has been linked with a return to Bundesliga side Bremen in the winter window, but the possibility of that move could now be off the table already.

AC Milan ‘evaluating’ Niclas Fullkrug deal
With Fullkrug’s fate at West Ham seemingly already sealed, various clubs have been linked with a move for him when the window opens.
AC Milan are among those who have been tipped to make a move for the 32-year-old, with contact understood to have been made with the player’s camp recently.
The Italian giants now appear ready to take their interest to the next level, after a recent development at the San Siro.
Massimiliano Allegri’s side are now “evaluating” a move for Fullkrug, and will continue to do so in the weeks leading up to January, according to Corriere Dello Sport.
It is understood that the Rossoneri are considering the Hammers frontman as a potential option due to his agent’s efforts to try and find a new club for him.

Milan’s options in January are seen to be fairly narrow, which could increase the likelihood of a move for Fullkrug.
Niclas Fullkrug will surely push for AC Milan over Werder Bremen
West Ham are happy to sanction Fullkrug’s exit in January, meaning that they surely won’t be too precious as to where the forward moves.
As a result, it will likely be solely up to the German himself to decide on his next club, and news of Milan’s internal assessments may well have made his mind up for him.
A return to his former club would likely have been an attractive proposition for Fullkrug, but with the cogs potentially in motion for a move to a European giant, that will surely take centre stage.
It certainly comes as a surprise, given his disappointing Premier League spell, but there is surely little reason why the veteran would opt against a title battle in Serie A.
With that in mind, provided that Milan’s interest continues to build ahead of the window opening, Fullkrug’s return to Werder Bremen will surely be off the table.
