Mohammed Kudus exit could be imminent at West Ham after what Slot said

West Ham are struggling to find consistency this season, making the upcoming January transfer window a crucial period for Julen Lopetegui as he looks to save his job.

Despite climbing up the table in recent weeks, plenty of doubt remains around the Spaniard who has failed to get his side going since his summer arrival.

Therefore, Lopetegui must get it right when making additions to his squad next month with the constant speculation around the boss surely good for no one at The London Stadium.

As well as arrivals, the Hammers could also see some players departing with several exits on the cards.

One man who is reportedly the interest of numerous Premier League sides is Mohammed Kudus who probably hasn’t had the season he had hoped for so far.

According to Sky Sports journalist Sacha Tavolieri (18 November), Liverpool are one of the sides interested in the attacker.

When asked about Kudus in his pre-match press conference ahead of Liverpool’s clash against West Ham on Sunday (29 December), Arne Slot was complimentary.

“I think he’s a good player, that’s for sure. Everybody sees this,” he said.

“He can play multiple positions. I think he played here for Ajax against Liverpool as a nine as well. He’s a big threat for them.”

Mohammed Kudus set for a move from West Ham to Liverpool?

Although Liverpool are yet to make an official move for Kudus ahead of the January transfer window, his name floating around Anfield could mean they are interested in this transfer.

The 24-year-old is a talented player and in a season where his side has struggled, the attacker has contributed three goals and an assist. However, it certainly feels as though he would be able to do more if surrounded by a stronger side.

While Kudus is not a player many Hammers supporters will be keen to lose next month, it may also open up more opportunities for the side as they would receive a healthy fee for the player giving them money they could then reinvest into the squad which can only be a positive.

Slot’s comments seem to suggest that he is a fan, and a timely reminder against Liverpool may be good and bad news for the Hammers and Lopetegui.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are preparing to make a £50m move for this La Liga star.
