Maxwel Cornet set for West Ham United exit as David Moyes sack decision made
It’s been an extremely tough start to life at West Ham United for Maxwel Cornet – and the management of David Moyes hasn’t helped.
Yes, injuries have played a major impact on the 26-year-old’s first year at the London Stadium but when he has been available, the Scot has been reluctant to utilise him.
14 Premier League appearances – mainly from the bench – resulted in no goals and assists following his £17.5million move from Burnley.

It was a much better story in the Conference League with five assists registered in just seven games. However, the lack of gametime toward the end of the season was concerning. During a pivotal end to the season, the 26-year-old was confined to the bench for both legs of the European semi-final and the victory against Fiorentina.
Surely these snubs have indicated where he stands in Moyes’ plans?

And with the Scot set to remain at the London Stadium, the winger could well be set to move on during the summer.
It’s understood Moyes will now remain as the Hammers’ boss for the 2023/24 season, with his contract set to expire next summer (BBC Sport, 12 June).
We know Moyes has his favourites, Tomas Soucek being the perfect example and it’s hard to see how he will implement Cornet consistently into his plans.
With Declan Rice set to depart, we could be set for another busy summer on the transfer front with a number of players coming in and out of West Ham United during the off-season.
