Maxwel Cornet may have played final game for West Ham United after David Moyes snub v Tottenham
Maxwel Cornet may have already played his final game for West Ham United after he was left out of the squad for the win over Tottenham by David Moyes.
The winger was not named in the starting lineup or on the substitutes bench for the 2-1 win in north London thanks to goals from Jarrod Bowen and James Ward-Prowse, despite Michail Antonio missing out through injury.
And after it was reported that Cornet was in fact fit and available and was just left out through choice by Moyes, it seems as though his Irons career could well be over already.
When Cornet joined the club West Ham had to beat a host of other clubs to secure his signature following Burnley’s relegation, and many people were excited about the deal.
But part of the concern was his issues with fitness and injuries, and they’ve not helped him at all during his time here.
The Ivorian suffered a nasty calf injury that kept him out for several months last year and with the manager strengthening in attack since then, he has just dropped down the pecking order and now finds himself dispensable.

The January transfer window is approaching and there are several clubs in the Premier League with money to spend and in need of a spark in their attack, so Cornet could present an eye-catching option for them.
West Ham surely won’t stand in his way and if he can’t even make match-day squads at the moment despite attackers being unavailable, his chances of getting on the pitch seem slim and we may have seen the last of him in claret and blue already.
