Max Kilman in five new signings, no Mohammed Kudus – Predicted West Ham United XI in 2024/25 opener
With a number of ins and outs expected at West Ham this summer, Julen Lopetegui’s eleven for the first Premier League game of the 2024/25 season may have a different look to it.
With Luis Guilherme already through the door, the Hammers are expected to add to their ranks over the coming weeks.
There will also be first-team players who are shown the door and those who could be tempted to leave for better opportunities.
West Ham potential starting XI after summer signings
The Hammers are unlikely to look for a replacement for Alphonse Areola so he will be retaining his spot in the playing eleven.
Vladimir Coufal and Emerson both do not seem to be leaving and unless the club brings in quality improvements at full-back, they’re likely to be regular starters.
At centre-back, Kurt Zouma has been put up for sale, according to TEAMtalk on 11 June, while Nayef Aguerd could be on his way out as well [Alan Nixon, 9 June].
The club have identified Wolves defender Max Kilman as a target and have made an opening bid of £25million as they eye three new defenders this summer, per the Times on 21 June.
Along with the 27-year-old, Bologna centre-back Riccardo Calafiori may also move to the London Stadium and David Ornstein reported on 18 June that an enquiry has been made for him.
Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg reported on 22 June that Manchester United have made an approach for Edson Alvarez and they certainly can tempt him to leave.
Mohammed Kudus may also be on his way out as Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad have been linked with a move for him [ESPN, 20 June].
TalkSPORT claimed on 11 June that the Hammers have been offered Vitoria Guimaraes winger Jota Silva and he can play on the left wing for the Hammers with Guilherme in the number 10 role.

A striker is being targeted and Newcastle forward Callum Wilson could well lead the line with the Hammers making an approach, according to Chronicle Live on 22 June.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers want to secure the transfer of a player who’s set to leave Tottenham Hotspur this month.
