Kyle Walker-Peters destined for early exit as West Ham eye alternative defensive options
Kyle Walker-Peters will surely be sold by West Ham soon, with Nuno Espirito Santo continuing to target right-backs.
Nuno is set to be backed in the January transfer window, and has wasted no time in finding potential targets.
However, this could lead to some of the Hammers’ recent signings having uncertain futures.
One star who has struggled for game time is Walker-Peters, with the full-back mainly being used off the bench.
Now, given West Ham’s recent links to Sacha Boey, surely the departure of the Englishman is inevitable.

Kyle Walker-Peters will surely leave West Ham
In the build-up to the transfer window, plenty of stars who can play right-back have been linked to the London Stadium.
On top of Boey, Axel Disasi has been linked to West Ham. While primarily a centre-back, he is also capable of playing on the right.
Therefore, it appears that Nuno is looking to reinforce this area either in January or the coming summer.
- Walker-Peters joined West Ham in the summer
- The full-back was available on a free transfer after his contract at Southampton expired
- Under Nuno, Walker-Peters has struggled for starts
Nuno loves an attacking wing-back, something the Hammers have been missing this season, and if one is brought in, surely someone will leave.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s form for West Ham will surely mean that he is kept around, which just leaves Walker-Peters.
The Englishman has barely featured under Nuno, starting just twice. Therefore, it feels inevitable that Walker-Peters will be sold, with the manager clearly on the hunt for a potential upgrade on the Englishman.

His game time will drastically reduce if a new full-back is brought in, and it may be best for all parties to go their separate ways.

What has Walker-Peters said about Nuno Espirito Santo?
After Walker-Peters’ goal against Burnley before the international break, the full-back spoke to the media.
One of the topics was how life has changed under Nuno, with the manager now overseeing back-to-back wins.
Here, Walker-Peters was highly complimentary of Nuno to West Ham on 9 November.
“The gaffer’s spoken about being together,” he explained. “One of his main messages is being together as a unit, as a team and I think we’ve really worked on that.
“Like I said, off the pitch, we have a lot of real togetherness and everyone’s speaking to each other. Everyone’s really honest and I think the gaffer’s made that environment.
“We’re allowed to question each other and that’s good. I think sometimes you need that in a team and everyone takes on the advice and listens.
“So, it’s working. Long may it continue.”
