Kudus to never play for Lopetegui again as West Ham United sack news emerges

Mohammed Kudus may never play for Julen Lopetegui again as he nears the sack if West Ham lose against Everton on Saturday.

The Hammers welcome Sean Dyche’s side to the London Stadium on 9 November with their Spanish manager under serious pressure.

The defeat against Nottingham Forest (2 November) has left the ex-Real Madrid precarious situation with the international break coming up.

This could pose an opportunity for the Irons’ hierarchy to potentially line up short- and long-term candidates to take over [The Guardian].

If Lopetegui is to suffer a defeat against the Toffees, there is a chance that Kudus never plays for the manager again after his red card against Tottenham.

The Ghana international has not been at his best this campaign in a disappointing drop-off from a stellar debut year in the Premier League.

This saw him become one of the most important players under David Moyes as he netted 18 goals and assisted seven across 48 appearances in all competitions.

The 24-year-old’s season so far has been summed up by a moment of madness against Spurs where he was sent off and fined £60,000 for clashing with Micky van de Ven and Richarlison.

This has seen him miss the clashes against Manchester United and Forest and will also miss upcoming games against Everton, Newcastle and Arsenal.

Kudus won’t be available for the Hammers until they travel to face Leicester City on 3 December, by which time Lopetegui could have been sacked.

If that was to be the case, it would mean the versatile forward won’t play under the Spaniard at West Ham again after a difficult spell.

There had been reports of disagreements between the manager and ex-Ajax man which had seen him hooked at half time at Brentford.

With that being said, it may not be seen as a negative thing for the Irons’ talisman if he never plays under the current head coach again.

In other West Ham news, David Sullivan has been accused of withdrawing a managerial contract offer at the London Stadium.
