‘Kudus could get Potter sacked’, West Ham dud must be axed at HT v Tottenham

Mohammed Kudus has largely been a spectator for West Ham in their clash with Tottenham, and could be sent off if he isn’t taken off.

Typically, a clash between West Ham and Tottenham would have plenty on the line, but with both sides enduring a miserable campaign, it couldn’t be further away from reality.

Graham Potter is under increasing amounts of pressure to keep his job at the London Stadium, and a failure to win against Ange Postecoglou’s will only see that intensify, and as it stands, that is looking like a rather unlikely outcome.

West Ham were carved open inside the opening 15 minutes, with Wilson Odobert giving Spurs the lead, before Jarrod Bowen struck the Irons level, and if Potter wants to keep his job, Kudus needs to be sacrificed.

Kudus could be sent off for West Ham

West Ham, as they have done throughout Potter’s tenure, seem somewhat devoid of any ideas and creativity, while also looking suspect on occasions at the back, which is ultimately what led to the opening goal.

Kudus, in theory, is a player capable of impacting their lack of attacking threat, but so far, he just seems miles off the pace and is offering very little, if anything, to the game.

Kudus has not been good enough this season.

His only notable involvement saw him pick up a yellow card for a high foot, and if Potter truly wants to remain at the London Stadium, axing him at half time may be his best bet, before the forward gets himself sent off.

With the likes of Luis Guilherme and Carlos Soler on the bench, the Englishman has options, and both of them would likely offer far more to the game than Kudus is doing with the score currently level at 1-1.

Potter may have 45 minutes to save his job at West Ham

After the nightmare start to the season under Julen Lopetegui, the feeling was that things could only get better when Potter was appointed. How wrong we were.

Tottenham are enduring the worst campaign in their history of the Premier League, and are still looking twice as good as the Irons, despite the latter being at home.

Anything can happen in 45 minutes, but unless West Ham can turn up the heat, Potter may be heading towards the exit door.
