West Ham United: David Moyes must take decisive Konstantinos Mavropanos action v Fulham
West Ham manager David Moyes simply has to drag off Konstantinos Mavropanos at half-time against Fulham.
The Irons went into the interval of Sunday’s (14 April) Premier League clash a goal down through an early Andreas Pereira strike at London Stadium.
Mavropanos was at fault for the goal and has not looked comfortable since, with Kurt Zouma sat watching on from the substitutes’ bench.
The Greece international did not register a tackle or interception in the opening 45 minutes [WhoScored], with his only positive involvement a solitary clearance.
West Ham struggle in first half v Fulham
The error leading to the goal was undoubtedly Mavropanos’s biggest involvement in the first half, as he failed to bring down Alex Iwobi’s pass and put it on a plate for Pereira to convert.
As Perry Groves said on talkSPORT [14 April]: “Should your centre-half be trying to bring the ball down in his own 18-yard box?”
The answer to that is no, and Mavropanos’s error has cost West Ham massively. With the Bayer Leverkusen tie looking out of reach, three points against Fulham are a must.
If not, the Irons’ campaign is at risk of collapsing in the space of a week as their domestic and continental hopes simultaneously falter.

Moyes will hopefully take action at half-time with a couple of changes, one of which should see Zouma come in for Mavropanos at the back.
A change up top would also be welcomed, with the Hammers registering three attempts on target but failing to find a way through.
It is now over to Moyes to rectify it if West Ham are to recover and keep their hopes of a top-six Premier League finish alive.
