Julen Lopetegui to be sacked by West Ham United in 11 days

Julen Lopetegui will surely be sacked at West Ham in 11 days’ time after it was revealed he has two games left to save his job.

Lopetegui has caused a massive regression at West Ham this season and the very fact that he’s retained his job after Sunday’s embarrassing 5-0 defeat to Liverpool is insanity.

However, an update from talkSPORT [30 December] has claimed Lopetegui has two games to save his job and given the fixtures, you can just about pinpoint the exact day he will be sacked.

With Manchester City and Aston Villa in the next two encounters, the latter on 10 January, West Ham would need a miracle to avoid defeat in either clash with Lopetegui’s fate all but sealed.

West Ham can start looking for Lopetegui replacement now

Given how dire the performances have been from the Irons this season, can anyone really see a result against either Man City or Aston Villa? It’s hard to imagine.

And if Lopetegui does indeed have two games to save his job, the club may as well begin the final search for his replacement before the situation at the London Stadium worsens any further.

Sergio Conceicao was a name mooted for the job but a recent update from Fabrizio Romano has curtailed those hopes with the ex-Porto boss set to agree terms to become AC Milan’s new head coach and it’s another missed opportunity for the Hammers.

The sooner a conclusion is found to this Lopetegui-induced nightmare, the better and its genuinely concerning to have seen him last this long in the job.

When that inevitable decision is made, the next appointment will have to be spot-on if the hierarchy are to win back the trust of its loyal supporters.
