Jhon Duran has awkward Aston Villa return after West Ham United transfer development
Jhon Duran has been pictured returning to Aston Villa training after being linked with a move to West Ham.
The Hammers made a bid for the Colombia international earlier in the window with Fabrizio Romano reporting a £30million offer on 25 July.
This deal didn’t go through and Tim Steidten opted to sign Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund, leaving Duran stuck at Villa Park.
The 20-year-old has now returned to training with the Villans as an unpopular figure amongst their supporters for his recent antics.
West Ham target Jhon Duran returns to Aston Villa training
When the young striker threw up an Irons gesture on a live stream, fans felt that a move must have been edging closer.
Now that appears to have been done too soon with a move seemingly off the cards and becoming “very complicated” [Fabrizio Romano, Give Me Sport].
While talks continue, Aston Villa have shared an image on Instagram (6 August) of Duran in training with him looking unimpressed to be returning to the Midlands.
It is no surprise to see him turn up to Bodymoor Heath but it has been met by plenty of comments from their supporters.

Although the Colombian has plenty of potential, there is concern over his behaviour and it remains unclear what Unai Emery will do with him.
The Hammers may have steered clear by avoiding Duran but it seems pretty obvious that he doesn’t want to stay where he is after a summer full of transfer uncertainty.
In other West Ham news, a medical has been scheduled for one player to quit the club before the transfer deadline.
