Jarrod Bowen may save David Moyes from sack with new Premier League record for West Ham United
Jarrod Bowen may be keeping David Moyes in the job with an excellent run of form which has seen him set a new Premier League record despite the defeat for West Ham at Brentford.
As shared by stats experts Squawka on Twitter, Bowen has become the first player in Premier League history to score in his side’s first six away games in a single campaign.
The inspired form of Bowen has come at a time when pressure is ramping up on Moyes’ position as manager, with suggestions that the club are becoming fed up [Claret & Hugh, 30 October], but his goals may be keeping his boss in the job.
So far this season, Bowen’s goals have been worth four points as they helped his side to record a draw against Bournemouth and a win against Luton, and those four points are worth five Premier League places to the Hammers, who would sit on a disappointing ten points.
Of course, that is all ifs, buts and maybes, but it’s a display of how important Bowen has been to the way Moyes sets his team up. His electric running on the wing and finishing ability make the difference in the tight games.
Speculation will continue to ramp up about Moyes’ long-term future at the London Stadium, with a decision still yet to be made on his contract situation, and things would be considerably worse for him if not for his star man.

Bowen signed a new seven-year deal this season and fans will be breathing a collective sigh of relief that he has committed his long-term future to the East London club, with his stellar form and new league record certain to have caught the eye of top clubs.
In other West Ham news, one player has finally repaid Moyes’ faith.
