Jarrod Bowen has point to prove vs Leeds after what Jack Harrison did to West Ham

Jarrod Bowen will be out for revenge when West Ham face Leeds United on Friday.

West Ham are set to welcome Leeds to the London Stadium with the hope of bouncing back to winning ways in the Premier League.

Nuno Espirito Santo came under pressure against Brentford after what was a dismal performance in East London.

Brentford secured a 2-0 win over West Ham, with something in desperate need of change under Nuno in their next outing.

The Hammers will be calling on Bowen for inspiration, but he could be in for a personal battle with Jack Harrison on the night.

Jack Harrison scored hattrick vs West Ham in 2022

The Irons have had a mostly positive record against Friday’s opponents in the past, before their relegation to the Championship in 2023.

Having won three of the last five outings against the Yorkshire outfit, West Ham will hope for a positive result against Leeds.

West Ham vs Leeds United last five results (Premier League):

The one outlier in the past 14 years came in January 2022, when Marcelo Bielsa’s side secured a 3-2 win against the claret and blue outfit.

Harrison netted a hattrick at the London Stadium to cancel out Bowen and Pablo Fornals’ strikes for the home side.

The Hammers captain is the only remaining outfield member of the West Ham squad that day and is set to come up against the Leeds winger once again.

This could prove to be an interesting battle as the England international looks to get one up on his Elland Road counterpart.

Only Jarrod Bowen and Alphonse Areola remain from West Ham 2-3 Leeds United

It says a lot about the current state of the Irons that only two players are still playing a part in their squad compared to three years ago.

Alphonse Areola was on the bench, Bowen started and scored, but every other member of the matchday side has now moved on.

Fan favourites like Declan Rice, Michail Antonio, Manuel Lanzini and Fornals have all moved on and taken a particular element of joy away from the Irons.

Bowen is certainly up there with the best of this bunch of cult heroes, and it is a massive boost that he has stuck around in East London.

There will be hope that he can continue to perform at the top level for West Ham and keep winning games, starting against Leeds.
