Harvey Elliott destined for West Ham switch after what former scout said
West Ham could move for Harvey Elliott and help solve his Aston Villa nightmare.
West Ham nearly signed Elliott after El Hadji Malick Diouf, but a move never went through as a frustrating window continued in East London.
Elliott joined Villa instead of West Ham in the summer as he snubbed the London Stadium in favour of a link-up with Unai Emery.
Graham Potter seemingly wanted to bring Elliott to West Ham from Liverpool as his spell at Anfield looked destined to come to an end.
The Hammers could still make a move happen for Elliott, with a West Midlands departure potentially on the cards in the coming weeks and months.

West Ham could sign Harvey Elliott from Liverpool
Elliott quit Liverpool in the summer, but only left on an initial loan deal with Villa holding an obligation to buy the attacking midfielder.
The Englishman has to feature 10 times in claret and blue before a permanent deal is activated, but he has been frozen out after just five appearances.

That has raised questions about his future as the January window approaches, even if he can’t play for anyone other than Villa and Liverpool this season.
Elliott could still have a summer transfer in mind as he is in desperate need of a move to get his career back on track.
Former Aston Villa and Tottenham scout Bryan King has told Villa News that he can see the ex-Fulham youngster joining West Ham in the future.
He said: “I don’t think Harvey Elliott is a Villa player. You’d think with his pedigree and that figure, he’d walk straight into the team, but he doesn’t; there are many things that come into question.
“I can see him ending up in London with someone like West Ham or Spurs, that’s where I think he’ll end up eventually.“
Elliott could replace Lucas Paqueta at West Ham
It feels likely that at some stage, Lucas Paqueta is going to leave East London at some point after a turbulent few years.
The Brazil international still isn’t over his FA hearing, and that was clear after his double yellow card and sending off against Liverpool earlier in the season.

West Ham could let him go in an upcoming transfer window, and a potential cut-price deal for Elliott could prove to be a wise move.
There is no doubting his qualities as an attacking midfielder, and his failed stint at Villa Park shouldn’t put the Hammers off next summer.
