Graham Potter to have mixed feelings amid Jarrod Bowen developments away from West Ham

Jarrod Bowen has been a brilliant servant for West Ham since joining in 2020.

Bowen showed leadership for West Ham recently after a difference in opinions with some of those in the stands after the 3-2 defeat to Wolves.

The forward soon bounced back as he captained West Ham to an important 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest.

After developments away from East London, Graham Potter will have mixed feelings, with an important run of games coming up.

Graham Potter will be pleased Jarrod Bowen didn’t feature for England

Bowen was again called up by England after impressing in the top flight.

Hammers supporters had hoped to see him in action when the Three Lions played Andorra at Villa Park on 6 September, but the forward failed to appear from the bench.

Potter and Bowen will have mixed feelings following the 2-0 win.

Bowen will be disappointed not to get his 17th cap for England in a game where Thomas Tuchel’s side lacked any fluidity up front.

The 28-year-old would have added plenty of pace and purpose to the attack, but Noni Madueke and Marcus Rashford were preferred over him.

Potter will be pleased with Tuchel’s decision not to play the forward, with his lack of international minutes a blessing given the need to keep him fit.

The Irons are going into a crucial run of games, with Tottenham, Crystal Palace, and Everton rounding off their September fixtures.

Bowen could still play for England against Serbia on 9 September, but Tuchel appears set in his ways on giving others minutes instead.

Lack of England games to reduce transfer interest in Jarrod Bowen

Bowen didn’t attract any Premier League interest in the transfer window, which came as a surprise to plenty of supporters.

The 28-year-old not featuring for England will keep him out of the limelight, and could put off any potential suitors in January.

The winger has been crucial in keeping the Hammers in the Premier League over the last couple of seasons.

Bowen is one of five players remaining from West Ham’s Europa Conference League-winning squad, and his loyalty hasn’t gone unnoticed.
