David Moyes will now be feeling the heat at West Ham United after ‘disgraceful’ display v Fulham

West Ham manager David Moyes will surely be feeling the heat once again after Sunday’s (10 December) shocking defeat at Fulham.

The Irons were three goals down at half-time against their London rivals and conceded twice more in the second period as they fell to a 5-0 loss.

After an upturn in form in recent weeks, the performance at Craven Cottage brought United – and their manager – crashing back down to earth.

Moyes looked on helplessly after Tosin Adarabioyo added to the earlier first-half goals from Raul Jimenez and Willian.

talkSPORT broadcaster Tom Rennie summed things up nicely at that point with his post on Twitter [10 December].

“West Ham just aren’t up for this. Nobody cares. Disgraceful performance. Maybe make some changes David? Five at half time.”

There has been little talk about Moyes’ future in recent weeks – and rightly so given the Irons had won five and drawn one of their past six games.

However, performances like the one against Fulham bring the question right into focus: Is Moyes really the right man to take West Ham forward?

Some decisions Moyes makes are infuriating, while others believe United are far too conservative given the calibre of their attacking talents – a fair assessment.

West Ham

The last thing United need now is for their Jekyll and Hyde form to return as we approach a defining period of the campaign.

Even accounting for the loss to Fulham, West Ham still have a lot going for them right now as they compete on multiple fronts.

However, a repeat of this performance and all of a sudden the picture will not look as rosy, which will only spell bad news for Moyes.

For now, the Scotsman needs to ensure the defeat is out of the players’ system ahead of two more games over the coming week.

In other West Ham news, one player in particular was rotten in the first half at Craven Cottage.
