Chelsea have discussed internally whether or not they’ll make a move for West Ham target Riccardo Calafiori, with Arsenal and Juventus also reportedly keen on the Italian.
Fabrizio Romano reported on 1 June that the Blues are considering signing the Italy Euro 2024 star with Arsenal and Juventus already in pursuit since February.
David Ornstein reported on 18 June that an enquiry has been made for him by the Hammers with Julen Lopetegui keen on strengthening his playing eleven ahead of the new season.
Romano wrote: “Chelsea keep exploring options to bring in new left footed talented defender this summer.

“CFC exploring several options to find best opportunity.”
Riccardo Calafiori would be a quality signing for West Ham this summer
The 22-year-old Italian defender has been in impressive form, helping Bologna secure a place in the Champions League and performing well for Italy at Euro 2024.
He would undoubtedly be a quality addition to this Hammers side and offer much-needed solidity at the back.
The club have been linked with several defenders this summer, including Max Kilman and Ryan Sessegnon, indicating a desire to strengthen their backline.
Calafiori’s versatility, as he can play as a left-back or centre-back, would give Lopetegui more tactical flexibility.
Signing the Italian would be a statement of intent as the club have been ambitious in the transfer market in recent years, and securing the services of a highly-rated young defender like Calafiori would demonstrate their desire to compete at the highest level.
It would also show that the London outfit can attract top talent, even in the face of competition from bigger clubs.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have made a significant transfer swoop as a bid has been submitted for a Euro 2024 star which is the highest one received by the club.
