David Sullivan will have plenty to say as Lucas Paqueta announces West Ham exit plan
David Sullivan is unlikely to be happy with Lucas Paqueta at West Ham.
Aston Villa were heavily interested in Paqueta in the late stages of the window, but the Brazil international opted to stay at the London Stadium.
Fabrizio Romano revealed social media scuppered Paqueta’s Villa move after deadline day, something which won’t necessarily bother Graham Potter.
Despite the initial delight of keeping the attacking midfielder, with the hope of continuing to prove Alan Pardew’s “liability” claim about Paqueta wrong.
Now, annoyance has taken over the positive feeling around Paqueta, with a social media statement likely to cause friction with Sullivan in E20.

Lucas Paqueta wants to leave West Ham next year
It is little surprise that the former Lyon man has an eye on a potential move away from East London after a tough time in recent months.
This is especially the case after David Moyes previously scuppered Paqueta’s move to Manchester City, in the midst of his spot-fixing charges.
Having now been found not guilty of these allegations, the door has been opened to a transfer, looking ahead to upcoming windows.
This has seen Paqueta speak out via Instagram on 11 September to suggest that he will be leaving the Hammers at the end of the campaign.
He said: “It’s about choosing those who welcomed you, who never judged you, who believed in you until the very last moment, who loved you and made you feel at home.
“It’s about staying loyal not only when you had everything, but also when there was nothing… It’s not time to say goodbye yet! Let’s go together for one more season.”
This post has been liked by fellow West Ham teammates Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luis Guilherme, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Lewis Orford as they seemingly back the attacker in his efforts to leave the claret and blue outfit.
David Sullivan holds the cards over Lucas Paqueta exit
Although Paqueta seemingly has his sights set on leaving the Irons before next season begins, it ultimately won’t be his decision.
In the most recent window, the Hammers made it clear that they didn’t want to lose the attacking midfielder, and they stuck to their guns.
Sullivan deserves some sort of credit for that, as he could have easily taken Villa’s money while it was on the table.
With that being said, the co-owner is unlikely to be pleased to see the Brazilian speak out with his desire to leave the London Stadium so soon.
Paqueta’s contract at West Ham runs until 2027, so even if he wants to leave, it will ultimately be down to the decision of Sullivan and Co. in E20.
