David Sullivan to tear up David Moyes new contract offer after West Ham United turn of events in last 24 hours

West Ham have continued their rollercoaster campaign with a shock FA Cup third round defeat against Bristol City.

Tommy Conway scored the only goal of the game in the replay at Ashton Gate on Tuesday (16 January), with Said Benrahma sent off for the visitors.

David Moyes will be furious with the result and the exit from the famous competition at such an early stage, but the defeat could have a much more serious consequence for the man in the dugout.

Just last month, 6foot2 editor Sean Whetstone wrote on X (29 December) that Moyes is “100 per cent” staying at the club beyond the summer and will sit down for talks with David Sullivan to discuss a new deal.

But that should all change now following the devastating loss to Bristol City, who were deserving winners against a feeble Hammers side.

West Ham did, of course, have two opportunities to overcome the Championship side, but could only draw 1-1 in their first meeting at the London Stadium earlier this month.

Moyes has been under pressure plenty of times during his stint at the club, but he has overcome that pressure to deliver many memorable moments.

Just last season the Hammers lifted the Europa Conference League trophy, while this time around they sit sixth in the Premier League table and topped their Europa League group.

But a loss to a club sitting 14th in the Championship will not sit well with Sullivan, who may be forced to look elsewhere in a bid to move the East London outfit in the right direction.
