David Sullivan pulls off most shameful West Ham act yet as new Graham Potter sack details emerge

David Sullivan has totally humiliated Graham Potter at West Ham.

West Ham have confirmed the sacking of Potter after a terrible start to the season at the London Stadium, consisting of four losses in five Premier League matches.

The West Ham players are shocked by Potter’s exit, especially the timing of the announcement with just two days remaining until an away trip to face Everton.

Nuno Espirito Santo looks set to take over West Ham, with his appointment potentially set to be agreed before the clash on Merseyside on Monday.

This quick swoop for Nuno won’t excuse the actions of Sullivan towards Potter, with the Englishman left embarrassed by the Hammers’ chairman.

Graham Potter humiliated before West Ham sack

Potter said that “no one is happy” at West Ham in his press conference on Friday, summing up the issues he has had in East London.

After such a poor start to the campaign, it is little surprise that he faced tough questions about his future.

West Ham’s recent results:

It looked as if the ex-Chelsea boss would at least be afforded two more matches in charge of the Irons after taking on the press conference in E20.

Sullivan and Co. have now opted to make the bizarre decision to sack Potter with just two days remaining until the Hammers’ next game.

This makes little sense in the context of taking on his media duties just a day before, something which could have been easily avoided in East London.

And what makes it even more difficult for Potter to take is that, according to talkSPORT, he was informed of the decision hours after sitting through Friday’s press conference.

David Sullivan must have some shame over Graham Potter treatment

There is no doubt that the former Brighton boss deserved to face the axe after what has been a poor stint in charge of the claret and blue outfit.

The issue that Hammers fans will take with this decision is that it could have been made weeks – or indeed days – ago, rather than so close to an approaching fixture.

There was no need for Potter to sit and answer questions about West Ham, especially when he was told that he would be leaving the London Stadium on the same day.

Instead, the 50-year-old has been put through a hellish week with his future hanging in the balance, making for uncomfortable viewing at Rush Green.

It is clear that Sullivan has no qualms about the treatment of Potter, but it feels very unfair towards the manager, regardless of his poor record with the Hammers.
