David Sullivan prediction needs to happen for West Ham to progress
David Sullivan’s incompetence is a big reason behind West Ham’s struggles.
West Ham are heading for a season – or more – in the Championship, unless something drastic changes at the London Stadium.
The Hammers have lost to both of their relegation rivals in recent weeks, while also having failed to show any kind of improvement under Nuno Espirito Santo, who has shouldered a large portion of the blame this season.
That level of criticism is warranted, though the finger should be pointed elsewhere for West Ham’s recent failures, and in particular, at Sullivan.
Simon Jordan prediction needs to come true for West Ham to progress
Sullivan has overseen everything that has gone wrong at West Ham over the last few years, from dreadful recruitment decisions to even worse managerial choices.
However, his own stubbornness has prevented him from making the changes that everyone has known for a while are necessary.
Quite frankly, things will not improve for the Irons until a change in ownership is made, and Simon Jordan believes it will take relegation for Sullivan to quit, and it may be a necessary evil.
Via talkSPORT, he said: “I think that West Ham are a club that are heading down into the Championship. Not because I want them to, but because there is a whole disconnect there.
“I don’t disagree with the West Ham fans in principle about their complaints, but I don’t think it helps the cause.
“West Ham become a club are a really good buy if they get relegated to the Championship because I don’t see Sullivan wanting to be around a football club in the Championship.”
West Ham need a total clear-out
Whether people agree that it needs to happen or not, it is looking more like a when as opposed to an if that West Ham get relegated.
Historically, teams have struggled to bounce back immediately after relegation, but if the Hammers remain in the Premier League, that mould will set in even further, and when the Championship eventually comes knocking, it will hit them even harder.
The Hammers need a refresh, not only from a squad perspective, but from top to bottom.
Nuno needs to go, Sullivan needs to sell-up and West Ham need to suffer a drop into the second tier before they can get back to the stature that they have so often strived to have.
