David Sullivan ‘must do the right thing’ as West Ham player now wants out in weeks
West Ham could be set for some big changes in the summer, and one key player may now be headed for the exit door.
The Hammers have endured a disastrous season as they currently sit 17th in the Premier League, less than two years after they won the Europa Conference League.
Julen Lopetegui was replaced by Graham Potter but results have barely improved, with West Ham drawing 1-1 with Southampton in a disappointing display.
Chairman David Sullivan could be forced into some difficult decisions in the summer, and he may now benefit from selling one star player.

Flamengo could move for Lucas Paqueta
It has now been reported that Brazilian giants Flamengo could look to sign Lucas Paqueta from West Ham in the early stages of the summer transfer window.
Paqueta has been a key player for West Ham since he joined from Lyon, but with the Hammers in a tough financial situation, there is merit in sacrificing him in the summer.
Stat | Lucas Paqueta |
Appearances | 32 |
Goals | 5 |
Assists | 0 |
Flamengo reportedly want Paqueta to join before the Club World Cup in the summer, and this could take the form of a loan deal with an option or obligation to buy afterwards.
Paqueta is reportedly keen on a move and is even willing to take a pay cut to make it happen.
Former Chelsea defender Filipe Luis is manager of Flamengo, and believes that Paqueta would be the ideal addition to the squad.

West Ham should let Paqueta go
Paqueta has suffered a dip in form this season, and despite previously being the team’s primary creator. he has failed to provide a single assist.
The Brazilian is still caught up in his court case related to spot betting allegations, and if he is found guilty he could be banned for life.
This could be West Ham’s last chance to cash in on one of their top earners, and use the money saved from his wages to reinvest in the squad.
Paqueta has scored 18 times and provided 14 assists in 116 games for West Ham, but his time at the London Stadium may now be coming to an end after a difficult year for him.
