David Sullivan may have saved David Moyes from West Ham United fallout as Divin Mubama update emerges
West Ham United chairman David Sullivan may well have saved David Moyes from fan fallout at the London Stadium as he looks to personally seal Divin Mubama’s future at the London Stadium.
Reliable Hammers journalists Claret & Hugh reported on Wednesday (8 November) that the Irons majority shareholder is to personally meet with the youngster to thrash out terms on a new contract in East London.
Sullivan will be hoping to deploy the same tactics he used to get Jarrod Bowen to sign new terms by meeting personally with Mubama and offer him and his representatives around £30,000 a week.

The Athletic journalist, Roshane Thomas shared on his personal Twitter account on Monday 30 October that the young striker had rejected a contract extension given his limited minutes and opportunities under Moyes so far this season.
The England Under-19 forward is yet to feature in the league and was not in the matchday squad for the 1-0 loss to Everton last Saturday or the EFL Cup win over Arsenal — only playing 24 minutes of first-team football this season.
The West Ham sensation was supposed to be third choice after Michail Antonio and Danny Ings, but Moyes’ decision to play Jarrod Bowen up front with Mohammed Kudus in a supporting role against the Gunners last week certainly gave the impression that Moyes doesn’t see him as part of his plans yet despite his rapid progress with the youth sides.
The 19-year-old is highly-regarded within the club and amongst fans given his rampant performances with the youth setup in recent seasons, scoring 13 goals in 20 Premier League 2 games last season [Transfermarkt] and even bagging a goal for the first-team during their Europa Conference League triumphant run.

Mubama’s agents believe that he is worthy of Premier League opportunities with reliable West Ham source Six Foot Two (3 November) sharing that they have made “outrageous” financial demands to West Ham United in order to secure his long-term future at the London Stadium.
It is believed that his agents want Premier League first-team starter wages for their client which has led to a standoff in negotiations on a new contract.
With the youngster’s future at the club uncertain given Moyes’ choice to leave him with the reserves, Sullivan may well have saved the day with his decision to step in and meet Mubama at his point of need.

Losing the talented teenager could well have seen West Ham United throw millions away but also seen Moyes suffer even more fan fallout after losing several prestigious talents already in the academy over the past year, at a period when they are trying to unearth the next Declan Rice at the London Stadium.
What kind of message would the club have sent out had Mubama been allowed to leave?
With Sullivan persuading Jarrod Bowen to commit his future at East London, the chairman will surely have the same influence over Mubama. It’s now up to Moyes to repay Sullivan’s faith by granting Mubama opportunities immediately.
